There are several types of French student visa, and the one you require will differ depending on how long you are planning to study in France for.
Short Stay France Schengen Student Visa
With this France Schengen visa for Indians, you can study up to three months in France. This visa is suitable when you are going for a short term diploma or a certificate course in France. The advantage of short stay France Schengen visa is you need not to apply for a separate residence visa and you would be allowed to travel 26 countries of Schengen zone during your stay period. However, most of your stay time during 90 days period should be in France.
Temporary Long Stay France student visa
If you are planning for a short to medium term course, this should be the best France student visa for you. You would be allowed to stay for six months in France but the visa in not renewable. Hence if there is a chance that your course might get extended, you should look forward to the next option.
Long stay France student visa
The visa is known as VLT-TS visa. It is issued for the entire duration of the course or program. The visa do not require a separate stay permit in France. If you are planning to pursue the graduate course, the visa will be valid for 3 years, if you are planned for masters, the visa will be issued for the validity of 2 years. For PhD aspirants, the visa would hold validity for 4 years.
Documents Required for France Student Visa
As per the France student visa requirements the following documents must be submitted at the VAC for completing your application –
- A valid passport –
- It must contain at least 2 blank Apache2 Debian Default Page: It works should not be older than 10years. It should be valid for at least 6 months from the date of travel. Old passports, if any, are to be attached.
- 2 passport size photographs
- Confirmed flight tickets
- Proof of accommodation – hotel bookings, an invitation letter from the host, etc
- Travel medical insurance covering 30000 Euros
- Educational documents (long term)
- Financial documents to show sufficient funds such as –
- Bank statementsBank guarantees scholarship documents
- Certificate of Registration or Pre-registration at a French institute stating the duration of the course
- Internship agreement, if applicable
